Cargo iQ is an International Air Transport Association (IATA) sponsored global initiative and not-for-profit group to create and oversee a common standard to improve the quality and reliability of operational services in the air cargo industry. It is a group consisting of over 80 members, ranging from airlines / air cargo carriers, freight forwarders, I.T service providers and ground handling agents (GHAs), with membership also open to trucking service providers, airports and shippers. Over the past 20 years, Cargo iQ Members have collaborated to develop a system of shipment planning and performance monitoring based on the air cargo industry standard Master Operating Plan (MOP). Cargo iQ is headed by a board of elected officials by the membership and an executive team led by the Executive Director Ariaen Zimmerman, based in Geneva, Switzerland.

Cargo iQ is often marketed as an air cargo quality management system and a gloabln air cargo quality improvement initiative involving multiple stakeholders. These stakeholders include the various parties involved in the transport of air cargo and include airlines / air cargo carriers, freight forwarders and ground handling agents. In comparison to other quality management systems, Cargo iQ is strictly data-driven and emphasises continuous operational performance measurements and monitoring to improve operational processes.
